Salem is a conservative congregation located in the country about 20 miles east of Hillsboro, Texas.

We worship the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We accept the entire Bible as the errorless, inspired Word of God. We are dedicated to preaching the Truth: that God has prepared a way to save sinners from eternal damnation by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. By His holy life and innocent death on the cross, our sins have been paid for in full.

Our Sunday School services begin at 9:30 each Sunday morning, and worship service follows at 10:30. Please join us!

Our services are "traditional Lutheran" (as distinguished from "contemporary Lutheran"). We sing from The Lutheran Hymnal, a popular and well-loved hymnal originally published by the Evangelical Lutheran Synodical Convention in 1941.

We are located about a mile north of Malone, just off FM 308. From 308, take HCR 3441 to the south (look for our sign at the corner of 308 and 3441!), then make an immediate right on HCR 3442. The church is on the left about 1/4 mile down the road. Consult the Mapquest maps below for context.

Salem is a conservative, independent Lutheran congregation. From January 1, 1922, until July 18, 2004, Salem was a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Our church has a long and proud history. It was founded by the original German immigrants who settled in our part of Hill County. A short summary of Salem's history is located here.

The graves in our cemetery date from 1888.

A list of graves sorted by name is available here.

A list of graves sorted by plot location (starting from the southwest corner of the cemetery) is available here.
